In her solo project, Manon Mullener weaves worlds where echoes of her childhood mingle with distant rhythms. Her father gave her a taste for jazz, her mother for French chanson, and somewhere between these two worlds, she found her own voice. Today, her hands tell stories of ancient melodies and inner journeys.
At the age of 17, Havana welcomed her, with its Cuban rhythms that found refuge in her compositions. This solo piano project is a logbook, where memories of children’s choirs singing Fribourg tunes meet the refined harmonies of jazz and the vibrant flights of Cuban music. Every note is an invitation to travel, every silence a breath of fresh air in a world where musical boundaries are disappearing.
In this repertoire, revisited in her own way, everything is alive, everything is movement. Manon makes the classics dance, sheds new light on her own compositions, and offers her audience a suspended moment, like an open door to her inner landscapes.
